🎉 New Release Notes – Approval Studio Update We’re excited to share the latest updates and improvements that make Approval Studio more powerful, flexible, and fun to use. This release focuses on Workflow Automation enhancements, updates to the Digital Asset Library (DAL), and even introduces a mystery integration for our most curious users!
Table of contents:
🔁 Workflow Automation Upgrades
Approval Studio’s Workflow Automation continues to evolve into one of the most flexible feedback management systems on the market. With this update, we’ve made several key improvements that streamline your setup and expand what’s possible:
✅ Bug Fix: Custom Email Templates
We’ve resolved a long-standing issue where users were unable to select a second or third custom email template within workflows. Now, you can freely create multiple custom email templates and assign any of them to different workflow stages — ensuring clear, consistent, and branded communication throughout your review process.

👤 New Role: Project Owner as a Dynamic Assignee
We’ve added a Project Owner role as a dynamic variable within workflows. This lets you build automation paths that automatically assign specific steps to the user who created the project. Example: “Once the project is created → Project Owner assigns reviewers.” This brings new flexibility for teams with rotating leads and helps eliminate redundant configuration steps.
🔄 Chain Workflows Together
Now you can trigger one workflow from another, enabling more advanced, multi-stage approval logic. Example: “Once User A approves File X → Start Workflow B.” This allows you to model real-world review chains with precision and full automation.

🚀 Manual Workflow Triggering
Not everything needs to be fully automated. With the new manual workflow trigger, users can now manually start a workflow using the Run button right inside the project interface. Perfect when you want to review everything before kicking off the next phase.

🗂️ Digital Asset Library (PRO version only)
While the DAL is brand new feature introduced in the previous release, it’s just received a series of major quality-of-life improvements. If you haven’t used it yet — now’s the perfect time to start! The Digital Asset Library is your team’s central repository for approved and reusable assets. Here’s how it works: After approving a file, send it to the DAL instead of simply closing it. The asset will be neatly stored and categorized in your library. When creating new projects, you can copy any approved asset from DAL into your workflow — either as-is or as a starting template. This update makes the DAL faster, more reliable, and even easier to navigate — helping you maintain brand consistency and save time searching through archives.

🕵️♂️ Secret New Integration
We’ve quietly released a new integration in this update… but we’re not saying what it is (yet). 😏 It’s already live in the system, and the most attentive users just might spot it before the official announcement later this month. If you think you’ve found it — let us know in the comments!
🏗️ What’s Next?
We are already working on the next major update, this time it would be something cool associated with files review.
💙 Thank You to Our Users
As always, we want to thank everyone who contributes ideas, feedback, and suggestions that help us make Approval Studio even better. Every improvement we release starts with your real-world use cases — so please, keep them coming!
