What is a reference file?

 

Reference documents are the files containing information that is important to complete your project. If the files that you are reviewing have specific details about your design workflow, it is convenient to have them right at hand.

What are they useful for?

 

References can be used for any project in any sphere. For example, in packaging design, you want to know the exact sizes, fonts, legal information, and other specs for your project.

Attachments to the comments


Reference files can be uploaded to Approval Studio via the review tool as attachments to the comment. Image files will have thumbnail previews in the proofing tool.

Upload a File

Upload a project reference on your own from your device’s library to access it in the project menu.

Add a Link

If your data is stored on a separate cloud service or website, you can add it to the references as a link.

Request a Reference File

Ask your teammate to upload the file or add a link with necessary information assigning a task to them.

Download the files

The reference documents are not used to proof in the review tool and can have any extension you need. To check them, you can download them to your device from the system or follow the link.

Send via email

Every design brief, link, specs file, or any other reference that is in the system can be sent via email to share with a colleague or client to ask their opinion or discuss it.

Delete unnecessary references

Project reference documents that are no longer needed can be deleted from the system by the project owner.
